Mei Lin Barnes (born 2013; Named Mei Lin Ching Chong for a short period) is a Chinese infant bear. She was adopted by the Barnes family though the Ching-Chang Orphanage, but then returned when her family became fed-up with her.
She was adopted a second time, and became a professional pianist as a child prodigy. She later returned to the Barnes home.
Mei Lin was born with a different surname to unidentified bear Chinese parents in China in 2013 (she can not be much more than a year old, at most). At sometime, her parents gave her to Ching-Chang Orphanage. She was later adopted by the Barnes family, who took her to live in Elwood City in the United States. Her surname was changed to Barnes. Mei Lin lived with the Barnes for a while, until they got "fed-up" for unknown reasons (probably because of Mei Lin's excessive use of Chinese culture). The family flew back to China, and gave Mei Lin back to the orphanage. When Binky (The biological child of the Barnes family) asks what will happen to Mei Lin, Mrs. Barnes tell him that she will be forced to "work 24/7 making cheap crap to sell at Wal-Mart!" (Return to Sender).
After she was returned to the orphanage, she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Ching Chong, two Chinese bears, and she adopted their surname. They were extremely disciplinary, which led to Mei Lin becoming a highly successful musician, traveling the world to go to her performances (The Prodigal Daughter).
On December 25, 2014, Mei Lin returned to the Barnes house. She was "unadopted" by her parents when she made a mistake on the piano while playing at Carnegie Hall. She rejoined the Barnes family on Christmas Day (Imperfect).
